LDigital transformation has led to exponential growth in the demand for professionals with digital skills in Europe and Spain, as an integral part of the EU, is no exception. Companies are looking for digital talent to compete in an increasingly globalised market, where the Internet is the gateway to all markets and the key tool to boost any business.
However, there is a major barrier to this digitalisation, both for small and large companies: the lack of professionals specialised in digital skills.
The current context in Europe
The digital labour market in Spain and Europe is promising cyprus number data but challenging. Demand for professionals with digital skills is booming, but supply still does not fully meet this demand, which has increased by 40% in the last year and only 11% of candidates have the necessary skills, according to a “Digital Talent Overview 2022” report by ISDI.
In 2022, it was estimated that more than 80% of Spanish companies were in the process of digitalisation and around 60% of them claimed to have difficulties in finding professionals with the right digital skills. According to the DESI (Digital Economy and Society Index), it is estimated that by 2025 in our country we will have to face a deficit of around 85,000 professionals in the field of digital talent.
