Regardless of the chosen form, to register an individual entrepreneur or LLC, you must specify the OKVED code (All-Russian Classifier of Types of Economic Activity), which determines the type of your business.

For retail trade in food products, codes of groups 47.1 and 47.2 are suitable, but most often for a grocery store, code 47.11 is used - “Retail trade primarily of food products, including beverages, and tobacco products in non-specialized stores.”

It is important that the business complies with the specified code, otherwise a fine may be imposed. According to the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation, non-compliance with the type of activity may entail a fine of 5 to 10 thousand rubles.
