Link building is experiencing a renaissance: evolution or trend?

Post by sakibkhan29188 »

Today we'd like to take a closer look at the topic of link building. This article is inspired by the massive increase in link building discussions at various events in recent months.

After Google's Andrey Lipattsev publicly confirmed in March 2016 that link building remains anuganda phone number data important ranking factor, more and more people are coming out of hiding and admitting they still believe in link building themselves. Not that it was any different before, but somehow the statement has strengthened their backbone, and people are once again daring to publicly stand behind it.
What's more... we have the feeling that some website operators and their (so-called) SEOs in the industry are falling back into old habits and building relatively stupid links.
The release of the Google update Penguin 4.0 at the end of September is also grist to the mill. Now, apparently, no one needs to fear a penalty anymore, because they're much easier to mitigate than before. While just a few weeks ago we still had to worry about being trapped in a filter for months (or, in Home24's case, years) if we received a manual penalty from Google, we can now happily test the limits. Link building until the penalty hits, then mining until we're released "in real time." Finally, we walk the line until the benefit is maximized for us.

In our opinion, this is completely the wrong approach. Link building has been a topic of discussion for a very long time. Actually, it's been as long as we've been involved with the topic, which is almost seven years now.
Is link building experiencing a renaissance?

Having already exempted various companies from manual penalties, we enjoy very good insight into the area of "link building – and how not to do it!".
Link building "the old way" simply doesn't work anymore. At least not in industries where there is massive competition. In others, the one-eyed person can actually still score points (emphasis on "still"). For us, the key difference lies in the quality of the links. Yes, it sounds trite, but it's becoming more important than ever. And the spiral continues.
At a time when the SEO industry is increasingly discussing Rankbrain and Google's artificial intelligence, we should consider the extent to which this also affects off-page optimization, i.e., the link building of a site.
