It’s about having a conversation at scale, but when you sell this

Post by nishat@264 »

Most of the associations that we work with are professional associations or trade associations. We started working with associations about a year and a half ago. We realized that we had found a product-market fit. Since COVID ended, we've seen a surge. Every quarter kills the quarter. Regardless, those are the associations that we work with, the professional associations.

Jeroen:

You say it’s about member engagement. to these associations, what are the underlying problems that they’re facing? What are they trying to solve?

Dave:

I have yet to meet an association that is happy with ivory coast cell phone number list the level of engagement of its members. This raises the question of what does member engagement mean and what does an engaged member look like? An engaged member is a member who does things, it’s that simple. An engaged member is a member who reads things, who participates, who gets involved, who maybe volunteers to be a part of something, who goes to events, whether they’re virtual or in person. So an engaged member is a member who dedicates mental space to this organization, but who also opens their wallet to the association.

Dave:

So it's not just an investment of time that an engaged member gives, but it's also a financial investment. So associations, and any other business for that matter, are not much different than any other business, you want engaged customers, right? No matter what you're selling, you want engaged customers and that's what we're trying to do. Specifically, we focus on associations to help them get their customers, their members, to do things with them.

Dave:

And we do that through a very, very simple process: ask, capture, act. Everything we do starts with a question; right now it's all done through email, but SMS has potential, and bots on websites. But we ask a question, we gather information, and we act on it. And the beauty of this simple process of ask, capture, act is that it mimics human behavior. So when you're walking down the street, or you're riding your bike down the street because you're on cobblestones, in Brussels or Bruges, I see the bike over your shoulder. I see the bike over your shoulder.

Jeroen:

It's not so prehistoric here, but yes, we still have cobblestones in some places, but it's mostly in the historic centers.

Dave:

We have cobblestones and there's a whole island in the northeast United States called Nantucket, and there's a lot of cobblestones there, so when you're walking your bike, or somewhere in a city, someone might come up and say, "Man, that's a nice bike. What kind of bike is that?" And that's what I asked you when we started this podcast, I said, "What kind of bike is that?" And you said, "Oh, it's a racing bike, it's a meta combo." I don't remember what you said. And I'm like, "Oh, that's cool. I have a bike like that too."
