Deadline for those who intend to run for elective office to be affiliated and regularized with a party.
Parties have until April 4th to obtain the registration of their statutes with the TSE. This is because according to Law No. 13,488/2017 , all political parties in formation that wish to participate in the 2020 Elections must have obtained the registration of their statutes with the TSE six months before the election.

This is the date on which (still) pre-candidates will be able to start the popular “ Vaquinha Online ” (Online Vacancy) campaign to raise funds for their campaign. Even though the fundraising can be done before, the accumulated amount can only be released when the candidacy registration is confirmed.

August and September
August 31 to September 16 : party conventions to define coalitions and choose candidates. Conventions may be held virtually.

August 31 to September 26 : period for registering candidates. Beginning of the deadline for the Electoral Court to summon parties and radio and TV stations to prepare the media plan.
