How did the successful athletes from Sochi fare on social media?

Post by suchona.kani.z »

Athletes and Facebook
Of the total number of 87 Czech athletes competing for precious metals, approximately 30 have a profile on the social network Facebook, some of which are maintained as fan profiles.

Snowboarders and skiers are certainly not ashamed , as they try to attract the general public through their social media profiles and thus increase interest and awareness of their sports discipline. On the other hand, those who are very active on social media are hockey players. Jaromír Jágr is a clear exception, the others either do not have a profile at all or are not very well maintained.

Does greater success = more fans?
It is completely unexpected. There are exceptions that prove the office 365 database rule, such as Jaromír Jágr , who had 234,000 fans on February 7th, and 330,000 at the end of the games, thus recording the largest increase in fans. Then come the medalists.

In total, athlete profiles received 364,324 “likes” during the Games, which is over 11,000 per person. However, the median value was around 1,700, indicating that only a few of the most active athletes were driving the increase.

The biggest increase in fans

The huge increase in Jaromír Jágr's fans is likely due to his videos from Sochi, which were also the most successful posts. You can see the changes in the number of fans for all athletes in this table .
