The coronavirus epidemic in China is also affecting many companies in the IT and telecommunications sector in Germany. One in four (25 percent) expects negative effects on their own business results in 2020 and one in two (54 percent) sees significant economic risks for the German economy.
This is the result of a survey by the digital association Bitkom, in which 80 companies in the ICT sector took part. The results are not representative, but they provide a meaningful picture of the mood. According to the survey, every second company (50 percent) expects the crisis surrounding the epidemic and the associated consequences to worsen further.
