In Kazan, a scientific Laboratory of Intelligent Transport Systems was created at the A.N. Tupolev National Research Technical University (KNITU-KAI).

, a competence center in the argentina cell phone number list field of transport planning, and the State Budgetary Institution "Road Safety". The opening of the laboratory took place with the participation of the Minister of Digital Development of Public Administration, Information Technology and Communications of Tatarstan Airat Khairullin.

Simetra has equipped the new classroom with all the necessary modern software solutions for transport modeling. The company's experts will deliver an educational course at the laboratory to share their developments in the industry with students.

"Tatarstan was one of the first in Russia to start developing the ITS direction. Over the years, many implemented subsystems have proven their effectiveness: automatic photo and video recording, automated traffic management systems, automated weight and dimension control, etc. However, the basis of all ITS subsystems already developed and planned in the future is not so much technical means as competent specialists. Who must have knowledge in both IT and transport engineering. If we do not develop in this direction today, then tomorrow we will have to quickly adopt foreign experience. Therefore, I am absolutely sure that the launch of such laboratories will provide an opportunity to qualitatively and systematically prepare competent personnel in the field of ITS," said Rifkat Minnikhanov, head of the Intelligent Transport Systems Department at KNITU-KAI.

The main focus of the laboratory's work will be on transport planning and modeling of transport flows. It will become a platform for conducting applied scientific research in the transport industry for the needs of public administration and domestic business. On the basis of the laboratory, it will be possible to develop various models and algorithms of video analytics for applications of intelligent transport systems, create simulation transport models, as well as models of algorithms for control tasks of unmanned vehicles.

"Over 16 years of work, Simetra has accumulated expertise that can help prepare new generations of transport engineers. Last year, we helped open a similar scientific laboratory at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. Practice shows that the presence of such a laboratory at a university helps future specialists acquire strong competencies and experience in solving current problems," emphasized Vladimir Shvetsov, CEO of Simetra.
