Linking to non-existent pages

Post by mstakh.i.mo.mi »

No internal linking is good if it points to “dead” pages. Always check that all links lead to existing subpages and regularly update or remove those that have ceased to exist for any reason.

Ignoring the importance level of a subpage
Not every page is equally important for SEO purposes. It is worth measuring the relevance of internal links against the importance of the page. For example, there is little point in placing many links to a contact page if it is less important for SEO than the article or product pages.

Lack of consistency in linking
Consistency is key. This means using consistent anchor text rules and chinese overseas africa database maintaining a similar number of links on similar subpages.

Ignoring the “nofollow” attribute
The attribute nofollowshould be used consciously. If you have subpages that you don't necessarily want to strengthen in terms of SEO (such as a privacy policy), it's worth using nofollowso as not to "waste" link juice.

Internal linking done correctly requires regular checks and consistency. Avoid the mistakes above and your site will gain SEO strength, offering users a high-quality experience when navigating.
