The first stage of the center's business process informatization

Post by tanjimajuha20 »

he company SP.ARM, a developer of IT solutions in the healthcare sector, has implemented the qMS medical information system in the Surgut District Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health. This allowed the medical institution to optimize and automate many processes, reduce paperwork costs and effectively control the quality of the center's work.

The Surgut District Clinical dominican republic whatsapp number database Center for Maternal and Child Health delivers up to 10,000 births per year. Its structure includes several areas: a consultative and diagnostic center (CDC) and an obstetric hospital, obstetric departments for pregnancy pathology and pediatric departments, which were added in September 2023.

was the implementation of the qMS laboratory information system in 2022. The SP.ARM team configured the integration of the LIS with the medical system used at that time in the clinical center, connected 30 analyzers and prepared drivers for the rest. Before implementing the MIS, the customer's team held many working meetings and negotiations, analyzed the systems presented on the market, worked out the main operational issues and capabilities of the selected solution. The project to implement the qMS MIS started in December 2022.

It was decided to launch the system in the clinic in two stages. First, the consultative and diagnostic center (CDC), day hospital, department of paid services and department of organizational and methodological work were connected to it. At this stage, the electronic schedule, information kiosk and personal account of the patient were launched at once.

The second stage was the launch of the obstetric hospital. During the launch, clarifications were made and the system was fine-tuned. In addition to the basic functionality, the "Medicines" and "Warehouse" functions were connected, as well as the ability to download the registers of compulsory medical insurance accounts to the territorial fund, etc. The children's hospital as part of the children's hospital was launched by the center's employees themselves, who had undergone the necessary training.

Another task at the beginning of the project was to minimize financial losses during the transition to a new information system. Doctors had to not only learn to work in the new system, but also correctly maintain documentation that must be transferred for payment to the TFOMS, insurance companies and to the patients themselves for cash payments.

A formalized description of the business processes being studied in the clinic, developed specifically for the qMS MIS implementation projects, made it possible to quickly work through many emergency situations within the project.

Training of end users and subject administrators was conducted during the launch process, including in a remote format. Specialists were trained in groups, directly at the places of work with the information system.

Already at the end of 2023, the Surgut Center for Maternal and Child Health moved to the support stage. The implementation of the MIS qMS allowed the medical institution to keep records of clinical and expert work in electronic form, reduce paper costs by automating the main processes of working with medical documentation, control the quality of the center's work and receive an expert opinion in the shortest possible time. Also, thanks to the use of the MIS, reporting on the work of the ART department has been automated, end-to-end accounting of the movement of biomaterial and the work of the cryostorage has been launched, and specialists can access the database of clinical recommendations directly in the MIS.

"With the transition to the qMS information system, we have noted a decrease in the number of undesirable events and errors related to the human factor. The changes affected the processes of providing medical care, the time for processing medical documentation has been reduced," comments Irina Kudrinskikh, Deputy Chief Physician for Quality Control at the Surgut District Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health.

"This project has become our most successful to date in terms of implementing the system's functionality. We changed the roadmap and all plans several times during the project, but dividing the launch into two stages turned out to be a good solution, since our team was able to come twice, distribute our own resources and the doctors' resources over time, and the customer's IT specialists were able to gain the necessary experience in the shortest possible time. This allowed them to independently, without our personal presence, launch new departments working with the EHR," said Olesya Loseva, Project Manager of the SP.ARM Implementation Department.

The clinic plans to use the MIS to ensure automatic information transfer of 100% of structured electronic medical records (SEMD) to VIMIS AKiNEO and REMD. The center also plans to launch qMS in new departments, implement the Clinical Recommendations functionality, organize personalized accounting of medications and adverse events, and switch to electronic document management.
