1. Introduction
Hello, I am Kawasaki from SHIFT Co., Ltd. (affiliation: Consulting Department). I worked as a system engineer at an SI company for about seven years, and now I work as a PMO at SHIFT Co., Ltd.
Because I had tended to be a haphazard PL/PM until now, I top benefits of using fusion database wanted to gain basic PM knowledge through an exam, so I took the Project Manager Exam run by the IPA (Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan).
As a result, I was able to take the fall 2024 exam and pass it on the first try!

So, I would like to share with you how I studied for the Project Manager exam and what it was like on the day of the exam.
I'm not good at studying, and I thought the hurdle of starting to study for the project manager exam was high, so I decided to lower the hurdle and just get started.
I hope this will be helpful for those taking the Project Manager exam for the first time and those who are working hard to pass!
2. Study Period
I started studying for the project manager exam in mid-July, and the exam date was in mid-October, so my study period was about three months .
However, there were periods when I didn't study, so I didn't actually complete it for even three months. Or rather, I'm not the type of person who can concentrate on studying for long periods of time, so I only sat down at my desk for about two months.
Because I had experience in system development project management, I was able to pass the exam in two months, but I think beginners need to start studying earlier.
3. Study Method
① Read the success stories and make a study plan.
② Lighten the Miyoko-chan book and read it.
③ Prepare for AM 2.
④ Prepare for PM
2. ⑤ Prepare for PM 1.
That's the general method for studying.
I'll explain the content and timing in more detail.
*Since I passed the Applied Information Technology Engineers Examination and was exempt from the morning session I, it is not mentioned in this article.
1. Read the success stories and make a study plan
First of all, I didn't know where to start studying or which reference books to choose, so I looked online for success stories and study methods, and considered which reference books and study plans.
