Types of Agile Methodologies

Post by monira444 »

When it comes to implementation, it should be noted that there are several types of agile methodologies, all of which share a common basis: the ' Agile Manifesto '. This document was developed by a group of CEOs in the United States in 20021 and includes the principles for a work system to be considered an agile methodology . It is made up of 12 principles that are grouped into the following four values:

Individuals and interactions over processes and tools. That is, greater importance is given to collaborative work over programs and systems.
Functional software leads people to excessive documentation. The technology to be used must be productive and that is key in the different types of agile methodologies .
Customer collaboration takes precedence over contract negotiation. The users of the product-service are the ones who 'call the shots', so to speak, in the development of a company's new product. Their satisfaction comes first.
Being able to deal with incidents is more important than following the established plan. Solving unforeseen events and adapting quickly and agilely to the changes and unexpected factors that are encountered. The plan must be adapted as progress is made through the different phases, since flexibility is the hallmark of the 'Agile' formula .
Most used agile methodologies
Once the advantages of agile methodologies became known, different ways of working following the principles of the ' Agile Manifesto ' began to emerge . Today, there are four that are among the most used bahrain whatsapp data due to the magnificent results they bring to professionals and companies.

Scrum : Especially recommended for small work teams. Collaborators meet daily to update themselves on the development of the different stages –called sprints– and any obstacles or changes that are detected along the way are communicated practically 'live'.
Kanban : This approach is particularly visual. The different tasks are presented in stages, with time frames, and once they are completed, they move on to the next columns until the project is finished. This is particularly interesting because it makes it easy to detect possible barriers.
XPM, Extreme Programming . For particularly complex projects with a high level of uncertainty. Priority is given to constant adaptation and it is especially flexible. Changes can be made frequently and the entire team is kept informed of how the product-service is developing.
DSDM : Dynamic Systems Development Method. It is one of the most complete ' Agile ' proposals, aiming to control the entire life cycle of a product-service. It is structured on rigid bases: feasibility study + Interaction of models and testing of prototypes + Design of the structure + Implementation.
FDD : Feature-Driven Development. This combines the best practices of the different types of agile methodologies . It pays special attention to customer behavior and the cycles are modified according to the changes that are identified as necessary.
Agile methodologies are used in countless sectors. That is why at EAE Barcelona we advocate including them in complete training programs such as the Master in Project Management . Among the activities that are making the most of ' Agile ' are logistics and transport , so students of our Master in Supply Chain Management & Logistics will be able to learn in detail about this work system.
