“I live for fur. I worship fur.” This memorable quote is from the character Cruella de Vil from the cartoon '101 Dalmatians' (1961). A personified version of this Cruella de Vil is currently being targeted on social media. The reason is a photo that Melissa Bachman recently published of herself on Twitter.
Bachman is a 'Hardcore Huntress' and in the photo she poses with a lion she shot. She captioned her photo: "An incredible day hunting in South Africa! Stalked inside 60 yards on this beautiful male lion ... what a hunt!" But, cats rule the internet . It is therefore not surprising that the entire internet is falling over her misdeeds.
In 2011, Bob Parsons , the former CEO of GoDaddy , suffered a similar fate. These animals did not put a straw in anyone's way. It is complete nonsense to help these – endangered – species to the other side of the world.
Last year, an internet petition was launched to prevent Bachman from appearing on a new reality show “Ultimate Survivor Alaska” on National Geographic. The Facebook action page “ Stop Melissa Bachman ” has since received over 250,000 likes and over 400,000 people have signed the internet petition .
