According to Digital Ad Spend, the number of smartphones has quadrupled in the last decade — 9 out of 10 Brazilians have a cell phone with a connection.

This means that consumers are more connected and have access to information. In 2012, around 16% of people had smartphones, while in 2021, this number rises to 85% .

These same consumers say that apps and chile phone number resource internet access make their daily lives easier. Other insights on the topic were:

3 out of 4 consumers say the internet is their main source for searching for information;
among the public +35 years old, this percentage is 67%;
36% of consumers who are connected consider the opinion of digital influencers on social networks when making decisions during the purchasing journey;
50% of consumers interviewed have already purchased food and drinks via delivery;
50% used driver apps to get around;
74% have already made at least one online purchase.
These numbers are impressive, considering that until years ago people were somewhat resistant to making purchases and other simple processes online. Therefore, this scenario of the rise of digital first shows great support for investments in strategies not only for sales, but also for branding .

Furthermore, the growth of social networks, even in areas with low connectivity coverage, reveals that there are gaps for new businesses and brand growth even in more remote and unconnected regions.

Not to mention that there are still significant numbers regarding the use of social networks and the internet itself in everyday tasks, such as controlling finances, searching for maps for routes and making payments without having to leave home, for example.

Digital advertising growth in 2021
According to Digital Ad Spend, in 2021, R$30.2 billion were invested in digital advertising , representing a growth of 27% compared to the previous year.

Of this amount, more than half of the resources were invested in social media, with 76% of purchases concentrated on smartphones. After all, we are in the era of Social First and Mobile First .
