Mobile advertising investment grows 7.5% annually worldwide

Data.ai has released its State of Mobile 2024 study , which addresses a wide range of mobile trends across different sectors. The report explores a detailed analysis of the top apps and games for 2023, highlighting emerging trends and the impact of Generation Z on the adoption of user-generated content.


Looking at data from the top ten mobile markets, the daily time spent on mobile devices per user is 5 hours , which is 6% more than the previous year. Indonesians are the ones who spend the most time using mobile devices, 6 hours a day. While in Spain we are at just over 3 and a half hours .

On the other hand, consumer spending in the mobile apps and games market increased by 3% worldwide , reaching 171.31 billion dollars and experiencing a recovery compared to the previous year, when it fell by 2%. Some countries such as South Korea, Brazil, Mexico and Turkey stood out by exceeding 25% year-on-year growth in that period. As for the country that had the highest spending , this was China, with 52.06 billion dollars .

In terms of download growth , there was a stagnation with a belgium number data modest 1% year-on-year increase. However, Bangladesh emerged as one of the fastest growing markets in this regard.

Advertising investment and user spending moved $533 billion in the mobile market in 2023
In 2023, mobile advertising investment grew by 7.5% , reaching $362 billion . If we compare the growth rate in 2023 with that of previous years (+13.8% in 2022), we find that it is slower, but the trend is expected to remain positive, although more stable and below the rates obtained between 2019 and 2022.

In fact, the report predicts that by 2024, advertising spend is expected to exceed $400 billion , and mobile devices are expected to play a crucial role in this growth as mobile devices continue to capture an increasing share of advertising budgets. This is due in part to the fact that people are spending more time than ever using apps on their mobile devices.
