In 2019 alone, there were almost 400 deaths in Spain due to improper use of mobile phones, according to the study “Smarthphones”, developed by the Línea Directa Foundation in collaboration with the University Institute for Traffic and Road Safety Research at the University of Valencia. The figure is alarming, since for the first time the use of mobile devices becomes one of the main causes of mortality on the road, competing with speeding and alcohol consumption.


Distraction with our mobile phones is not only limiting our social life, but it is also having a major impact on road accidents that could be avoided by implementing responsible habits on the part of drivers. That is why this post is dedicated to talking about digital wellbeing, which, for obvious reasons, is becoming a topic of relevance for everyone.

Digital wellbeing

Some countries, such as the Netherlands, Japan and Spain, are also taking steps to prevent accidents by placing bright traffic lights on the streets, or restaurants that challenge visitors to put down their phones for a moment and socialize with those at the table.
