Since I met certain conditions , I was able to enter into a partnership agreement with YouTube, which is managed by Google AdSense. This means that YouTube places banners on your channel or advertisements before your video, with which you can earn advertising revenue. After a trial period of a few weeks, you receive a small amount in your bank account, in my case € 0.27. You pass this amount on to Google AdSense.
Then you enter your address details, after which you will receive a code from Google by post. After entering this code, you will receive the income from your video once a month in your bank account. And yes, Google also earns from this video.
After that, it goes by itself. You can of course advertise your channel or your video on all kinds of social media, list to data but I didn't do that. I did link other videos to this viral video, so that people who see the viral video are alerted to other videos that I have indicated. Below the viral video are links to other videos that are more fun from my perspective than the viral video itself. The number of views of those other videos does not take on viral forms. So apparently a viral video does not automatically mean more viral videos.
I was also a bit surprised when I received this email:
“Congratulations Roy Johannink, We appreciate the hard work you have put into building your channel. To thank you for joining the Partner Program, we have decided to give you a one-time bonus based on a number of factors, including your videos and your engagement before connecting a Google AdSense account. Your bonus has already been added to your total earnings and we look forward to your continued success as a YouTube Partner.”
Strange, since I have put so little energy into my channel. It will undoubtedly be an automatically generated mail that Google sends at a certain number of views.
And will I really benefit from it? No and yes. The money simply goes into Stijn and Merle's savings account. So they will soon have a nice bit of pocket money. For me it is mainly a great experience and of course the pride of being the father of such popular twins!
