What are cookies?

What do cookies look like?
This is the data that Google Analytics collects on Aitom.c z - it tags you with a random number and tracks which pages you have visited based on that number. It does not store personal information such as name or email.

Annoying bar or better data protection
Generally speaking, users were not impressed with the cookie bar.

"Last year, we conducted several user tests of websites with a job seekers database cookie bar. Older users over 40 were confused by it or downright annoyed them, younger users automatically clicked consent and were not interested in the wording of the bar," says Michal Vaníček, head of marketing at the AITOM agency, about the impacts on users .

This is also confirmed by data from other AITOM agency clients for 2016. The agency examined data from 13.5 million page views , with only 3,100 of them viewing detailed information about the cookie bar, i.e. only 2.3 per thousand users .

However, those who opened the page with detailed information also read it. Users spend an average of 1:20 on the cookie policy page, which is enough time to study the entire content.

The future of cookies
Cookies bars have not proven to be effective, now it looks like bars will be a thing of the past from 2018. The EU wants to transfer responsibility for data protection to browsers . According to the proposal, it would be possible to set the security level directly in the browser. For example, Google Chrome already allows this.
