This independent study is done by following certain rules, the rules of Authentic French, and in particular the fact that we progress by listening to a lot of content or watching videos, but in any case by consuming… hello, little bird… by consuming a lot of content and that this content should be content that we understand. If you listen to things that you don't understand, you won't progress and the bird that you hear, who is singing behind me, agrees with that, you have to understand the content, but you also have to be interested in this content. If you force yourself to listen to things just because they are in French, it won't help you. So, you focus on content that interests you, that you are passionate about and that you understand.
You use your downtime for that, all those moments when your body is busy but your mind is free to listen to these contents, and you try to work with great regularity by following the kaizen spirit, that is to say by trying to progress a little bit often rather than progressing a lot not often. I always say: "it is better to practice or listen to French 20 minutes a day from Monday to Friday than to spend two hours every Saturday, for example, listening to French".
it's a bit of a very brief and succinct summary of the seven rules of Authentic French or we'll say five rules since there are two rules there that I put aside a bit, but all that, it's the independent study part.
The second pillar, which is also super important, is practice. You notice that the first pillar solves the first problem of people who only learn theoretically. And the second pillar, practice, will solve the second problem, those who do not practice.
The practice, I admit that I vietnam whatsapp number data haven't... it's not that I forgot it, it's that I didn't talk about it enough for several years. Let's say that from 2011 to 2019, I focused a lot on the content part, the natural learning method, I focused a lot on that. It was over time that I started to say to myself: "we should do more."
Since 2016, I offered a private Facebook group, a private WhatsApp group, to help people express themselves, I tried to do Facebook live for a while to try to force interaction and make it so that people could simply practice, but even though it was something good and useful, it was not enough. Now, as part of Authentic French, I have developed this second pillar a lot. I offer discussion sessions on Zoom both with me and with French tutors as part of Authentic French.
