The shift from office work to working from home has changed the way we think about work. Before the pandemic, many business leaders couldn’t imagine working without physical office space, but now many are giving up at least some of their offices. Meanwhile, employees have developed different work habits, such as learning to balance family responsibilities with work.
Traditionally, businesses have dictated where employees work, and even those with work-from-home policies couldn’t have foreseen what would happen in 2020. Now, they’ll likely find that their employees’ attitudes toward working in the office and at home have changed. Those returning to the office may also have different expectations for their work routines than they did in 2019 .

Now that offices are starting to reopen, they know that IT and cybersecurity teams will be under pressure to maintain in-office and remote IT. “Opening offices is challenging from a cyber risk perspective, so it’s important for business, HR, IT, security, and other team leaders to coordinate actions and communication channels with each other and with employees in advance,” advises Ellen Sundra, vice president of global systems engineering and implementation at cybersecurity solutions provider Forescout.
