Most webmasters don’t realize the importance of deep linking. Most data seems to indicate that many webmasters don’t continually update their site architecture throughout the life of the site. SEO-savvy webmasters are not fully considering the importance of an internal linking strategy to facilitate the flow of authority and metrics throughout their site. More importantly, webmasters are blocking the opportunity for users to navigate their site, which would solve issues related to orphan pages and increase onsite metrics. In this study and my audits, there are often many problems with redirects and broken links, which have a significant impact on the visibility of my clients.
