Verbatim keyword matching is more important for Bing traffic

Post by Rina7RS »

So if you think you can sit back and rely on Google to decipher the meaning of your page and figure out what keywords you should rank for, it simply doesn’t work for Bing search engine rankings. This means that keyword research is going to be one of the most important steps in the optimization process if you want to see good Bing rankings.

3. On-page SEO
On-page SEO is more old school with Bing search results optimization. I don’t mean “old school” in a spammy way, but in a more straight-forward way, everyone is doing SEO and we’re good.

Optimize titles and descriptions
Bing takes title tags very seriously. Note that Bing will usually morocco mobile database choose the title for the search results itself, rather than extracting it directly from the HTML <title> tag. Bing’s own advice for making sure the title you want is selected to show up in the SERPs is something like this:

1 Make the HTML title relevant to the queries used to search your site without being too long or repetitive. Avoid using generic titles like "Home" or "About Us."

2 If you're embedding OpenGraph etc, make sure it's consistent with your desired title and that all the fields are correct, e. your site name is correct.

3 If your site is listed in some large well-known directory, make sure the entry is correct.

4 Don't block crawlers. See the crawler control instructions for how to control crawlers , but remember that you should not block Bing bots if you want your content to be indexed.
