New generation transport

Post by rakhirhif8963 »

This will require people with skills in network and spectrum design to work on strategy and architecture; network engineering to design architecture and develop applications; network innovation to develop new radio access networks (RAN), network functions virtualization, Kubernetes, etc.; network maintenance monitoring to troubleshoot emergencies and outages; and IoT to develop applications, platforms, and APIs.

The engineering and operational capabilities associated with legacy technologies such as DSL, 2G and 3G cellular networks, and traditional cable TV infrastructure will likely no longer be needed, so the workforce will need to adapt.

2. Edge computing
By distributing computing workloads across remote data centers closer to end users, latency is reduced, throughput is increased, and organizations have greater sovereignty over their data. Edge computing enables real-time data processing, opening up opportunities for use in industries ranging from remote patient care to remote mining operations and sustainability solutions such as smart grids that optimize energy consumption.

A recent McKinsey survey of 75 telecom executives in North America and Western Europe found strong interest in various use cases for edge computing. Most telecom operators are already using edge computing to some degree, with a quarter having already implemented it or actively planning to scale it. More than half of respondents (55%) cited improved network efficiency and performance as a primary goal, while others cited new business (21%) or consumer (18%) use cases.

As edge computing becomes more widespread, telecommunications companies will face rising energy and network maintenance costs and increased investment in reconfiguring backbone and transit networks.

The transition to edge computing requires telecom denmark mobile database to have skills in network and systems design to develop data communications strategy and architecture; network engineering to install and integrate devices, software, and systems; network innovation to improve system performance; network maintenance to troubleshoot and resolve emergencies; database management to store, distribute, and analyze data; and security to minimize fraud, manage risk, and meet regulatory requirements.

The rise of cloud solutions, automation and managed services will reduce demand for on-site IT setup and maintenance services.

The first two technology trends – connectivity and edge computing – lay the foundation for the third: next-generation transport. The shift to autonomous, connected, electric and intelligent technologies has huge implications for air and land transport, and could make the movement of people and goods far more efficient and environmentally friendly.
