So, you have established how high-quality certain pages of your resource are. Rank them by priority and proceed to the most interesting part – improvement. Here are six main ways to improve a website page in search.

You have probably already found pages on direct moving leads email list your site that have become outdated or are simply not intended to be shown in search results (although they should be present on the resource). First, decide on their future fate. Pages that need to be hidden from search engines, but left on the site, are hidden with the noindex tag. If a low-quality page brings real traffic, even a small one, to other sections, and it contains relevant links to them, then the noindex and nofollow tags need to be added to the robots file (registered in meta tags). Then both Yandex and Google will be able to find this page and track relevant links, but they will not show it in search results.

Meta tags can be used to flexibly solve indexing problems. For example, the formulation <meta name="robots" content="noindex,follow" /> allows following links, but prohibits indexing of content.

Outdated pages can be improved by implementing the necessary changes and updates (we will talk about this later). However, you should not hold on to them at any cost: it is advisable to delete completely outdated and useless pages.

If their URLs bring any noticeable traffic to the site, you can set up a redirect to a similar post or page, category, list of tags (or, at worst, just to the main page). If the traffic is insignificant, remove them from the site altogether: let search engines stumble upon the 404 or 410 error, and gradually these pages will disappear from the search, and Yandex and Google will focus on more meaningful sections of the site.

The most popular redirect is 301, which allows you to transfer both the link profile and authority to the new page, so as not to lose the weight of incoming links if the site is transferred to a secure connection protocol, and also to preserve the characteristics of the site as a whole and its pages individually.
