So that you don't have to put the placeholder together yourself, Google provides an input mask that opens when you enter a curly bracket. Now you can select "Countdown" and enter the data for the action.

keyword placeholder
The keyword placeholder can be created in the same way. With the Keyword Ad Customizer, the placeholder is replaced by the keyword that triggered the delivery of the ad. This allows the user's search intent to be addressed individually and the ad relevance to be increased.
A standard text should be stored in this ad customizer, which is displayed if the keyword means that the character limit cannot be met. You can also select how the keyword should be capitalized in the ad text. In the illustration you can see an example of how the operator is used.

IF function
You are probably already familiar with the if-then functions from Excel or numerous other tools. This function can also help you with Google Ads. The "IF function" allows you to adapt the ad texts based on conditions. If a condition is met, a specific text is inserted, otherwise the stored standard text appears.
One case where the IF function can be interesting is if you want to address users from certain target groups (e.g. remarketing target groups) differently than new customers. In this example, you specify the audience in which the user must be in the condition and then enter the associated text and the standard text. Another case could be different texts depending on the user's device.
For the IF functions, a backslash (\) must be specified before special characters for the function to work correctly
