Is Tim Cook better than Jobs? A look back at ten years at Apple

On August 24, 2011, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs stepped down as CEO, handing over the reins to Tim Cook. It wasn't easy for Jobs to answer: the former CEO was remembered as a visionary leader and marketer who was behind the Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod, as well as the iTunes and App Store services. To mark Cook's decade at the helm of Apple, let's look back at his challenges and achievements: for example, the development of services at Apple, the release of AirPods and the emergence of its own processor production.

In the first quarter of 2021, the company's revenue reached a record $111 billion, which is four times more than in 2011. And profit grew more than fourfold: from $6 billion in the first quarter of 2011 to $28.8 billion in the first quarter of 2021. The company also holds almost $200 billion in cash, although back in 2011 it had only $76 billion.

Over the past ten years, the number of employees has also increased: in 2011, Apple had 60.4 thousand employees, and in 2021, 147 thousand.

According to data for June 2021, Apple earns an average of $10,000 per second, of which $3.6 thousand is net profit. The company's shares were worth $1,000 in 2011, and today they are almost $11,000.

Statistics show that Cook has been able to release premium products and improve them faster than Jobs did. From 2013 to 2018, Apple sold more iPhones annually than Jobs managed to do in his five years at the helm.
