Management responsibility according to ISO-9001In this post, Eva Gómez, Coordinator of the International MBA Master in Agri-Food Business Management at Bureau Veritas University Center , talks to us about management responsibility according to the ISO 9001 standard.
Do you think that the implementation of a management system will be successful without the support of the organization's management? I suppose you will agree with me if I say that nothing is possible within an organization without the full support and involvement of its Management , including the implementation and maintenance of a Quality Management System.
When an organization decides to implement a Management System, it is very important that the management of the organization is convinced of the step that it is going to take, and is aware that the benefits forex data will come as long as the entire organization is rowing in the same direction. In order to reach a successful conclusion, it is essential that there is true involvement on the part of the entire organization, with the management of the organization having to be an example to follow for all staff.
There is no doubt that the workers of the organization will be more involved from the beginning if they see that the management is also involved . If there is no firm and tangible commitment from the top, the workers will hardly believe that their work is worthwhile and will limit themselves to the minimum effort.
It can be said that Management, through its ability to lead the organization, must transmit an environment in which all its members are fully involved, which will facilitate the Quality Management System to act effectively. This idea can also be seen in the webinar I gave on Bureau Veritas Centro Universitario's Educational Television entitled " ISO 9001. Point 5. 6. Management Review ."

Whether or not an organization has a system in place, it is the responsibility of management to define the strategy to be followed by the organization and to ensure that it is implemented . The strategy may involve expanding, hiring staff, remodeling facilities, providing the resources necessary to perform a particular task, and may also include the implementation of a Quality Management System.
ISO 9001 Standard facilitates the work of the Management of organizations, establishing in its chapter 5 the requirements that the Management must take into account as a starting point for the proper functioning of the system, and which, as a summary, can be specified as follows:
Establish the organization's Quality policy , as well as promote and achieve the objectives .
Communicate the Quality policy and objectives in this area to every member of the organization in order to increase awareness, motivation, involvement and participation.
Ensure that the implemented Management System is in line with the established objectives and will provide the desired effectiveness and efficiency.
Ensure that customers are given the importance they deserve and that the system is focused on meeting their requirements.
