The company "Diagnostics-M", a resident of the special economic zone (SEZ) "Technopolis Moscow", is starting serial production of inspection equipment with artificial intelligence function. The company plans to equip all produced models of conveyor-type introscopes with a neural network by 2024.
A security screener is an X-ray television device that scans cargo and baggage for dangerous and prohibited items. They are used at train stations, airports, border zones and other places where people gather in large numbers.

This year, the resident is launching serial production of inspection introscopes equipped with an artificial intelligence system. The neural network created by the company's specialists can recognize dangerous and prohibited items not only in their entirety, but also in the form of their individual fragments from any angle," said Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the investment and industrial policy department, which is part of the capital's economic policy and property and land relations complex.
The company launched the first models of the AI-enhanced installations on the market in the spring of 2023. The "smart" introscopes have already undergone test operation and confirmed the declared characteristics. They are now used at transport and many other strategic facilities in the country.
"Five years ago, the company began developing a specialized neural network designed to significantly increase the efficiency of modern inspection equipment. This software is included in the register of Russian software of the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia. The level of localization of products in which the resident has invested its intellectual potential and material resources reaches 100 percent," clarified Gennady Degtyarev, General Director of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ.
According to Pavel Lebedev, CEO of Diagnostika-M, the company has developed a unique algorithm for detecting dangerous and prohibited items based on more than five million real X-ray images obtained using introscopes of its own production, used for baggage inspection at Russian transport facilities. This technology has opened up new opportunities in the field of security - the device determines not only the outlines of dangerous items in baggage, but also their structure, which allows for a clear distinction between dangerous and prohibited objects and their realistic models. This option in the introscope software has no analogues. Given the market interest in the new product, it was decided to make the neural network the standard software for all TS-SCAN series units manufactured by the company.
