The export potential of Russian particularly significant projects (ESP) was discussed by representatives of companies participating in the Industrial Competence Center (ICC) "Metallurgy" at the forumSmart Mining & Metals, organized by the ComNews Information Group. Earlier, in January 2024, at the "Flagships of Digitalization 2024" forum, Alexander Pavlov, Director General of the Russian Foundation for the Development of Information Technologies (RFRIT), spoke about the upcoming second wave of the OZP selection. Unlike the first wave, it will be export-oriented.
of Industry and Trade luxembourg whatsapp resource of the Russian Federation Vladimir Dozhdev supported the idea of selecting the second wave of OZP: "The so-called "OZP 2.0" program is the right vector. The wider the potential market, the better the product. There are traditionally friendly states that are historically interested in our products. Russian developers are developing new markets and entering segments in which they have not previously been represented. I believe that we need to lay down a maximum program and take on increased obligations specifically on the side of developer-integrators. Moreover, we have all the tools to manually support each negotiation, export contracts, transactions by our trade missions. 14 of them already have a specialized person who deals only with IT export. These are our digital attachés. By the end of the year, there should be 35 of them. Priority areas: Southeast Asia, North Africa, the Middle East, the EAEU countries, BRICS, Latin America. Therefore, of course, such a bar needs to be set. Moreover, some of our products even in Europe compete with those that have left the Russian market. Our market is too narrow, and without partner countries we can’t get anywhere here.”
Konstantin Zelenkov, IT Director at the JSA Group IT consulting company, believes that Russian products are ready to enter foreign markets: "Initially, the OZPs that we are developing had the task of making the products in demand both within the ICC and within the industry, and also making them in demand for export. Our approach was product-based, not project-based. We see great opportunities to sell products not only within the industry, but also in other countries."
Nikolay Godunov, executive director of the Mining Division of the Tsifra Group of Companies, said that the company receives half of its income from foreign markets: "Our business receives 50% of its money from abroad. We export technology: hardware, software. People work shifts. There is a stereotype that Western products are high-quality, but ours are not. I cannot agree with this. Because most customers from abroad pay us specifically for quality. We are growing at 30% per year. And in order to grow like that, you need to look for business abroad."
Sergey Dunayev, IT Director of JSC Severstal Management, believes that entering the export market is not an easy task: "It is a bit difficult to enter potential exports at the present time. We have always focused on the domestic market, because it is large in principle. But then you come, for example, to Uzbekistan, and it turns out that it is very difficult to conduct a dialogue with local clients. It is even more difficult to go to Cambodia or China and sell products there. We have a low moral readiness for this. We treat our products with great pride and patriotism and consider them the best. But in other countries, in the same China, they do not understand why they need to buy our products. Here you need to remember the ratio of economies. For example, the economy of the third largest province in China is larger than the entire economy of Russia. Some clients in China are afraid to buy our products, because everything is tied to the international system. Of course, our path to export largely lies through the readiness and technological perfection of products, but the other side, paving the way to the client, has not been canceled either. In today's conditions, this communication with foreign partners will be more difficult than developing a quality product. It is important to remember that the path of building communications and exports will be extremely thorny."
