e Service-Telematica company (part of the Telematica concern) has equipped a new highway bypassing Kemerovo with an automatic weight and dimension control system (AWDC). The IT solution is the concern's own development, which allows identifying in real time vehicles in the flow that violate weight and dimension parameters. The use of an intelligent solution will help improve road safety and increase the service life of the new highway.
on October 29. The road greece telegram connected the R-255 "Siberia" highway from west to east, allowing drivers to bypass the city. Its length is 47.6 km, it passes through the Kemerovo and Topkinsky municipal districts.
Three automatic weight and size control points equipped with sensors, video cameras, and special sensors for weighing vehicles mounted in the roadway were installed on the Kemerovo bypass. Using artificial intelligence technologies, the system determines various parameters of the vehicle as it moves: speed, total vehicle weight, weight of each axle, number of wheels on the axle, and dimensions. Each point is equipped with two variable information boards to promptly inform drivers about the traffic situation.
"The North-West bypass of Kemerovo is an important infrastructure project for the entire Kuzbass. The launch of the new route will have a positive effect on the city's transport infrastructure: it will redirect transit flows, reduce congestion on the roads of Kemerovo and improve the environmental situation in the city. The introduction of domestic technological solutions, in particular the weight and size indicator control system, will help increase the level of safety on the new highway and will also help extend the service life of the road surface," commented Alexander Protopopov, Director of the State Institution "Directorate of Kuzbass Highways".
"The weight and size control system is a modern domestic solution that has already proven its effectiveness in different regions of the country. It ensures safety on the roads by monitoring the movement of freight transport. Sensors accurately measure the weight and dimensions of vehicles, and when violations are detected, the system automatically records the data and transmits information about the violator. Thanks to this, it is possible to extend the service life of road surfaces, reduce the formation of ruts and reduce the risk of accidents associated with overloaded vehicles," said Denis Durnov, General Director of Service-Telematics.
The automatic weight and dimension control system is used on routes in Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Chuvashia, Mordovia, Khabarovsk Krai, Rostov Oblast, and also in Indonesia.
