I already told you that this was not just any course. It was a nice initiative of the Granada Red Cross that, together with Obra Social “la Caixa” , aimed to empower and improve the employability of several brave women who needed to “restart” .

Brave women who have not had it easy in life; who even in some episodes of life, have considered surviving more important than living.

Transversal skills, as their name suggests, are essential for any job, for any role, for anything, even in personal life. You know the saying that goes “to be a good professional, you must first be a good person” .

The program included several blocks: Personal Brand, Importance of Decision Making, Communication and how to convince in public, Negotiation Techniques and a section dedicated to Employment and the search for it.

It is true that, although we covered “all the topics” discussed, we went into more depth in some than in others. I already told you that this session was special. I felt a connection iran telegram mobile phone number list with them from the first day that is quite difficult to explain. They helped each other, they created a WhatsApp group during the first break; they were girls, women, mothers, unemployed… or all at once, with a crazy desire to learn, with a will to improve like I had never seen in a classroom.

In the group we had girls of different nationalities, besides Spanish, there were Moroccans, a Syrian girl, another Gambian… this enriched the sessions even more. As an anecdote, when I had been in the session for about 30 minutes, I noticed that Rabia and Atika were not stopping talking, so I said to them:

– Girls, can I help you? Do you have any questions? You can interrupt me to ask me any questions you want.

The reply was quick, sincere and completely justified. Rabia was not able to understand my message well. Between the fact that I speak quickly and that she did not know Spanish very well, she had a lot of trouble following my thread. Her colleague translated everything I was saying simultaneously, and so on, throughout the days and hours that the course lasted.

As an epilogue to the days of work, we visited a “neighboring” company of the Red Cross called The Globe Training . I must confess that I did not know it. They treated us literally as if we were at home. Through a tour of their excellent facilities, the students and myself were able to see how a training academy works from the inside. They made recommendations through their HR Director, Carmen Serván , for finding a job.

During this visit, Jerónimo de la Rosa , an Employment Technician from the Granada Red Cross, perfectly summed up what the intention of the course had been, and what they were taking with them in their “backpack” . It was a bottomless backpack, a chamber of wisdom that, like the brave women they showed me to be, they will fill throughout their life, their new life, a life in which there is no room for survival, there is only room for living…

From here, I would like to thank my friend Jerónimo for counting on me for this wonderful challenge. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
