TikTok had to work hard to gain popularity and is a video platform with one focus: creating and sharing short, creative videos. For Reels, it is a lot easier to get users. The new Instagram feature is integrated into Instagram Stories – another copy of another platform, namely Snapchat – which already has a lot of active users worldwide. In this way, Reels can be promoted to the billions of users that Instagram already has.

Both platforms offer advertising options. Advertising on Instagram can be done via Facebook Business whatsapp number list Manager with extensive targeting options, such as interests, specific location, education and look-a-like lists. TikTok's targeting options are still in their infancy, testing is being done with targeting on interests and look-a-like lists. In addition, advertising on Instagram is a lot more accessible if you don't have a very large budget, because advertising on TikTok is quite expensive.

Instagram is a copycat
This is not the first time that Instagram has copied its competitors. They have done this before with Snapchat, from which Instagram Stories was born. The difference is that Snapchat is more of a person-to-person platform where you can send your snaps to your friends and add them to your status. TikTok is a social platform that focuses on creating and sharing videos. In addition, they have a lot of capital and are already winning over Instagram in terms of popularity in countries such as India .

Will the story play out again just like Snapchat? Or will TikTok make Instagram Reels look like nothing?
