The thing to absolutely look for

Hello, dear friends! Thank you for joining me for this new episode of the Walk with Johan podcast. It's a pleasure to welcome you today. And we're going to talk about something that we absolutely must look for in our lives, that's it, quite simply, something that we really must look for.
Before that, I inform you or inform you again if you have already had this information that if you wish to have both exclusive content in your mailbox and a free course, "the 7 rules of Authentic French", you can join the newsletter . You have a link in the description. So you can pause and do it right now so you don't miss any of the content that we bring you. There is a lot, a lot.
So today, what is this thing that you absolutely have to look for or try to have absolutely? Suspense, big big suspense. We recently talked about learning, education, in a previous podcast. We also talked about execution, application, in a previous podcast. But today, I would like to talk about something else and I think the suspense has lasted long enough, it is about mastery.
What is mastery?
Mastery is knowing how to do something without thinking, having a very, very advanced skill in something, you are very competent. Someone who masters French, he speaks French russia whatsapp number data with great fluidity, without thinking, it is spontaneous, it is automatic, like me, I master French. Someone who masters a musical instrument, he plays the musical instrument with great talent, with great fluidity, he masters a musical instrument.
My son Tom is a fencer. It's a sword sport, he's a swordsman. The coach, in fencing, we call that "a fencing master". The fencing master, he has mastery of the weapon, that is to say that if he takes up the sword, he knows how to handle the sword with great talent, he has great skill.
In martial arts, we speak of a master, the master. The master is the one who masters and teaches martial arts.
In France, I don't know if it's like that in all countries, but lawyers are often called "masters". It's a title. Instead of saying "sir", we say "master", because they have mastery of the law, mastery of the law.
So that's what mastery is and I'm telling you that it's something to absolutely seek out but that you have to be realistic about one thing, which is that mastery is difficult to acquire. It requires a lot of work, it requires a lot of rigor, regardless of the examples I've just given. To really master a language, you have to work a lot. To master a musical instrument, you obviously have to practice a lot. To master an art or a profession, you have to work a lot. So it's ultimately very hard to master something, it's very hard to gain mastery of something. I think we'll all agree. Mastery is very hard to have.
But in return, it provides enormous advantages, mastery, it provides you with enormous advantages over others, because already, unlike objects, unlike many things, objects, you can buy them, you can buy many things, not mastery. You can't say: "I'm rich, I want to speak French, I buy mastery of French". You can't buy mastery.
For mastery, we can't look for a shortcut, that is to say, impatient people who say: "I want to master the piano in two months or I want to master French in six months or four months, let's say, when I'm starting from scratch", well they won't succeed. Mastery takes time and there is no shortcut. So it's a shame for the impatient.
