It's actually a given: a project manager needs a firm commitment from his employees that they will take on the task in question. Only then can he plan the capacities. Nevertheless, there are project managers who are fobbed off with a simple "Yeah, yeah, no problem." An attitude that can have fatal consequences.
Project manager Ute M. got completely bogged down in her project. At the beginning there were only a few tasks to be completed, so there was hardly any danger of getting bogged down. So Ute M. simply dispensed with detailed project planning. The few tasks can be delegated to the project team members without a big plan.
Things are now looking very different. There are currently more than 30 tasks pending.
