Pop-up takeovers are typically found across the entire web page, covering most of the content behind them. These pop-ups have the most visibility of all pop-up formats and can be set to be more or less transparent so that the user can still see the content behind the pop-up takeover.

Benefits of Popup Takeovers: Popup takeovers really grab the attention of the website visitor. And while they are the “least polite” of the Popup formats, they deliver high engagement rates. In our testing, we have seen that those who are annoyed by this type of format are often the ones who are least likely to take action on the website.

Therefore, we have found that concerns about how visible these units are are largely unfounded. These pop-ups typically have the highest conversion rates.

While these pop-ups can be annoying to some users, if done correctly, they can remain polite. The primary disadvantage fusion database of these pop-ups is when the website owner does not take the time to design them well. This can result in the website visitor being confused about how to close them.

Additionally, mobile and desktop environments must be strongly considered as part of the design process, otherwise it can lead to frustrating user experiences. Unlike some other pop-ups, the pop-up window usually does not reappear after the user closes it. This can result in lower engagement rates for those who want to close the message and return to it later.

Popup bell notification

An alert bell popup is similar to a slider except that the initial display of the popup is an alert bell. This piqued the curiosity of the website visitor and led to a high level of engagement. Website users are used to alert bells for needed action, updates or key notifications. Therefore, it is natural for website visitors to want to click on these alert popups.

Benefits of Alert Bell Popups: Alert Bell popups are a nice mix of click-through and politeness. Additionally, these popups can be set to open and close quickly, so the user can close the alert pop-up and still return to the pop-up later.

Cons of Alert Popups: These popups still have good engagement rates, but they are not as high as Popup Takeovers and Popup Modals.
