How to protect the enterprise of things

As connected virtual organizations become more productive, so do cyber risks. Robert McNutt, chief technology officer at Forescout Technologies, tells eWeek how the modern enterprise is changing and how to best protect your network in a changing environment.
IT-driven businesses are taking productivity to new levels. Traditional manual processes in accounting, sales, and the front office can now be performed using new technologies and devices, such as networked process or inventory sensors, PoS systems, and access control systems.
However, this environment also increases the argentina mobile database surface and makes it much more heterogeneous, with poorly managed or unmanaged devices interacting with the network that require increased attention.
The modern enterprise is an “enterprise of things” (EoT), saturated with networked devices that not only exchange information but also control how the physical world interacts with technical systems. The hacker community has dominated the last few decades by creating thousands of exploits and stealing data. New devices are tightly connecting the digital world to the physical world, dramatically increasing exposure, impact, and physical harm. This is especially true as organizations accelerate the creation of more virtual work environments and modernize processes to allow operators to work from home.
In a remote work environment, it is more important than ever for IT and security professionals to keep risk mitigation scenarios up to date and employ proactive EoT protections.
