For contactless payments

To exchange data with another device, simply bring your smartphone close to an NFC-enabled object, be it a payment terminal, another phone, or a smart tag. It is important to remember that for a successful connection, the devices must be no more than 10 cm apart.
Payment or data exchange
When two NFC-connected devices find each other, the smartphone automatically activates the required application. For example, to pay via Google Pay or Apple Pay, you simply hold the phone to the terminal. If it is a file exchange, it is enough to select the required data on the smartphone, and the process will begin.
If we are talking about a payment transaction, a request to confirm the action will appear on the phone screen - via biometric data or a PIN code. As soon as the payment or data transfer is confirmed, the connection between the devices will cease.
Completing the operation
Once the data has been successfully transferred, the NFC connection is automatically broken. If it was a payment process, a confirmation will appear on the terminal screen and you can pick up the receipt or complete the purchase.
Using NFC is easier than it seems. There is no need for long settings or complicated manipulations - just bring the devices close to each other, and the tool will do everything for you.

What is NFC used for?
One of the most popular and convenient uses of NFC is contactless payments. In smartphones, the NFC chip works in conjunction with the bank's payment application. When you bring the phone to the terminal, encrypted data is exchanged, and the purchase is paid. Unlike a regular card, the NFC chip does not need to be inserted into the terminal - you just need to bring the device. It is convenient and fast.
However, due to sanctions, some difficulties with paying with cards via smartphones have arisen in Russia. For Android users, at the moment, you can only link cards of the Mir payment system using the Mir Pay application. Owners of Sberbank cards can pay for purchases via Sber Pay, and there is no need to download additional applications - just log in to Sberbank Online.
For iPhone, the ability to link Russian cards is limited, but you can use a payment sticker with a chip that works like a bank card without requiring additional software.
