It is very common for beginners in digital marketing to venture out driven by the ease of access and usability of market tools. This is great, but beginners or those who are still “non-professionals” need to keep in mind that results in digital marketing are directly linked to experience. Being a beginner in digital marketing is not an easy task. Setting up a sponsored links campaign with the minimum possible to make it work, for example, is very easy. However, without the proper settings and monitoring, you will certainly spend more than expected and, worse, not bring the expected results. All digital marketing actions can be done quickly and in the simplest way possible, but this will make the difference between getting results or not.

I have listed some common mistakes that non-professionals and beginners make in their digital marketing strategies . Are you making any of these? Let’s take a look.

1 – Does not do competitor research
Do you know who they are? What sets them apart? How present saudi arabia telegram dominant are they in traffic channels and social networks?

a concept of many professionals and companies that observe their competitors to simply copy or follow the path they are taking. For me, this is completely wrong. Was your company born to copy your competitor? Then close the doors. The ideal of a business is precisely to have a personality and offer a benefit that no other offers.

It is important, of course, to follow your competitors, but precisely to get original insights for your business and do things DIFFERENTLY! That's right, caps lock, I'm shouting, DIFFERENTLY! Hehe

List your competitors and do a detailed scan. What are their differentiators? Who are their direct and indirect competitors? There are even tools on the market like Semrush, where you can get an estimate of the amount of media your competitor is investing in monthly.

Keep an eye on your competitors and gain insights to do things differently. Experienced professionals know the value of this.

2 – Does not create personas
This is one of the first modules of our Digital Marketing Training course .

You're having trouble selling your product. In your head, it's perfect, but you've forgotten one thing: who buys it? Who are they? Where do they live? What do they eat? Do you know those Globo reporter headlines? That's right. When the program starts, the subject is covered to exhaustion in minute detail. When you finish watching, you practically feel like an expert on the subject.

And that's the feeling you need to have when it comes to creating personas, knowing your audience.

For example:

Who are they? By answering this question, you can gather information about their personality, which can help you define the tone of the campaigns that will impact your audience.

Where do they live? This can show us their habits and regions, which can be of great use when creating regional segmentations for your sponsored link campaigns.

What do they eat? Here we can translate it as: what places do they frequent? Bars? Restaurants? Hot dogs on the corner? This also helps in reading the social class level of your audience and consequently you will know the behavior of your audience and which places they frequent to also help in the segmentation of your campaigns.

Absolutely all information, no matter how simple and irrelevant it may seem at first, may contain powerful insights about your audience. All of your marketing actions must be based on information taken from your persona. This will ensure that the content is quickly perceived and incorporated into your audience’s daily lives.

Many beginners also tend to make the mistake of creating a persona and thinking that it will last forever. The persona must be constantly monitored and evolved. Creating personas means getting your hands dirty and talking to your audience through interviews and observing standard behaviors. There is no room for guesswork here. All information taken from a persona must be based on concrete information.

3 – Put the website online and wait for everything to magically happen

It is very common for beginners to suffer from immense anxiety. Whether it is due to pressure from the client or from themselves to obtain quick results. Here you need to be real with your client and yourself: forget about quick results. Doing the right thing is better than getting it right. Trying to get it right will only lead you to strategies in which you will practically place all your chips on them, and they will certainly not meet your expectations.
