Please note that a server redirect can be permanent (code 301) or temporary (code 302). You need code 301 to move .
After receiving a redirect, the robot indexes only its target. Use redirect only when you do not need the old domain in the search.
It is advisable to set up redirection from all sections of the old site to the corresponding sections of the new site, even if the sites differ in structure and design.
Redirecting all pages to the home page is a bad idea. It confuses users and slows down indexing of the new site.
When to do: After successful verification from step 2.

Yandex.Help says that step #2 is enough to move: register the new site in the Host directive of the robots.txt files (on all mirrors).
