TODespite the continuous explanations and updates, there are still many unknowns surrounding the Instagram algorithm , especially regarding how to improve reach and impact a larger audience. In this regard, both the platform itself and its CEO, Adam Mosseri, often release informative pills from time to time, revealing some key points to users .
Send rate is more important than engagement rate
In a recent Q&A, Adam Mosseri talked about how to expand reach on the platform and what are the main factors that the algorithm takes into account when recommending content.
In this regard, Mosseri explained that the rate of azerbaijan number data posts shares is a key metric to consider in reach. “More important than the watch time or the like and comment count is the send rate and in general I think the rate is more important than the count. So the number of sends per reach, the number of likes per reach, the number of comments per reach.
But in my experience, reach submissions correlate more with overall reach than anything else , because we're looking to help people discover content that they want to connect with friends over, so submissions are a great proxy for that kind of connection over creativity.
This means that the likelihood of users sharing a post is now a key factor that the algorithm uses to recommend content, leaving aside viewing time and other forms of participation on the platform.
