The São Paulo State Commercial Board (JUCESP), an agency affiliated with the Secretariat of Economic Development, has recorded a reduction in the time it takes to open a business. Currently, the average time for opening a business through the One-Stop Shop is one hour and nine minutes (47% are completed in less than an hour and 11% in less than fifteen minutes).

The average time to open a business in Brazil is 23 hours, according to the Ministry of Economy. This achievement is attributed to a series of initiatives developed by the State Government. JUCESP has sought to digitalize its services to streamline processes and expedite the creation of new CNPJs. Processes that used to take four to five days to complete can now be completed in up to 24 hours.

The One-Stop Shop eliminates traditional in-person steps. , with automatic validations, and is shop completely free. This reduces the time it takes to open a business from days to minutes. In 2021, JUCESP achieved a record number of new businesses, with 288,502 new businesses established in the state of São Paulo, the highest number in the historical series since 1998.

"This administration was primarily responsible for streamlining processes and reducing the time it took to open a business in the state from four days to one. This is the goal of this administration: to work to improve the business environment and foster entrepreneurship," comments Bruno Caetano, Secretary of Economic Development.

São Paulo entrepreneurs can access three services offered by Jucesp (the São Paulo State Board of Trade) through the Poupatempo Digital app, providing faster, more convenient online services for independent individuals. These services include: business name checks; simple registration form issuance; and simplified certificate issuance.
