Favorite Baby Shower Dish

Post by sakibkhan22197 »

Favorite Side Dish
saladI know I mentioned this to you guys on Wednesday, but I have been loving salads this week. I always like salads, but with the addition of these crunchy garlicky crutons and leftovers from other nights’ dinners (sweet corn!!!) they have been even better. I’m definitely on a salad kick this week…let’s see how long it lasts (my guess is ’til the bottom of the cruton bag…)

cookiesTwo of the women I work with are expecting babies in late September/early October, and to celebrate our team is hosting a baby shower for them next Monday (the 26th). I am having trouble deciding what to bake/bring, and was thinking these cookies may need to make a reappearance. Any thoughts?

Favorite Lunch Outing
cupcakeOne of my other coworkers celebrated her birthday this week so a group of us went out to lunch at Roti to celebrate. It was a gorgeous day (like 75 degrees and sunny) and we had so much fun sitting around chatting. It’s not often that I can leave my desk for that long (work is insane, as always) so it was really nice to get away. My coworker offered to share her birthday cupcake with us, and split it into seven equal pieces so we could all have a bite. Isn’t that nice? I’m not sure I’d be so generous, ha. Anyway, the Roti was delicious (I got a salad) but the cupcake was even better. It was from Crumbs, which you guys know is my fav.

Favorite Inspiration

mindless at work (e.g., filling out an Excel spreadsheet, copying & pasting dataset info, etc.) I like to listen to something more than just music. Music is great but if I’m doing something really boring, I need a bit more. Sometimes it’s a Podcast, sometimes it’s my Harry Potter audio book (OMG I’M ALMOST DONE BOOK SEVEN. START PANICKING!) but lately I’ve been listening to TED talks.

The TED website has so many great talks, and they are all organized really well. I saw this one today, and thought it was really good.First of all, if any of you stopped by CET last night and saw a post on here about being “healthy” and are now wondering what happened to it, I had to take it down. It was a personal story about one of my friend’s dads who is battling colon cancer, and although he was touched by the story and was super appreciative of the post, for personal reasons they asked me to remove it (it was kind of an unforeseen issue that deals with insurance, paperwork, yada yada yada). Anyway, if you saw the post and were wondering what happened to it, now you know! Our hope is that as soon as some of those issues get resolved I will be able to share it with you again.
