Providing "easy-to-use" services for a wide variety of users
- First, please tell us about your career so far.
Oyamada: After graduating from university, I started my career by joining a web production company as a designer. From there, I changed jobs and worked for a contract production company, where I was in charge of projects for major clients. In 2009, I joined paperboy&co. (now GMO Pepabo) and was involved in the design of various services. I am now a senior designer in the EC division. I am also working to improve the skills of our in-house designers.
- What kind of work do you do as a senior designer?
Oyamada: I am involved in improving the administration screen of "Color Me Shop by GMO Pepabo," an online shop creation service.
"Color Me Shop by GMO Pepabo" is a service that was launched in 2005 in response to the demand from people who had published websites on rental servers who wanted to "easily create online shops." The attributes of the owners are diverse, ranging from company presidents who want to start online shopping, to people who run online shops as a side job, belgium phone number data to elderly people who "don't know much about the Internet."
The management screen of an online shop must be easy to use for owners of all backgrounds. "Color Me Shop by GMO Pepabo" has a business mission of "making commerce in Japan smoother," and improving the management screen is one of the things they are working on.
Specifically, this involves user research, deciding on improvement specifications, implementing the UI, etc. I do this together with my team members, who include product managers and engineers, and sometimes customer service and QA engineers.
The ability to correctly extract issues is essential for valuable services - Interview with Shoko Oyamada just before th
