Twitter surprised everyone again this week with the country email list introduction, on September 18, of its new header design for all profiles: businesses and users alike.

A fundamental difference compared to the launch, in December 2011, of brand pages , an advertising option available only to selected companies, such as Coca-Cola or Disney , and subject to a payment of $25,000.
The new design follows the lead of Facebook's Timeline and comes ahead of the full rollout of LinkedIn's revamped company pages , announced in early September and expected to be available to all companies on the professional social network by the end of the year. It also, of course, includes the option to include a header photo.
The new Twitter header is available for both the web version and mobile devices and apps (something that isn't the case with paid brand pages), and allows for the inclusion of a 1,200 x 600 image (with a maximum of 5MB) above which the profile photo and bio are placed. A very attractive and eye-catching option, it opens up new creative avenues, but it also presents difficulties in readability of the bio on the web version (not so on mobile devices).
