Why do you need Mos ID registration to rent an electric scooter in Moscow

In the new season, scooter rental in Moscow will be available only after receiving a Mos ID, that is, registration on mos.ru.
This is done to make trips safer for both SIM users and pedestrians. To prevent children and teenagers from accessing the service, it will be possible to rent a scooter in the capital only after verification via Mos ID.

In the new rental season, scooters will be available for rent:
persons who have reached 18 years of age,
persons who have passed verification and received Mos ID.
To obtain a Mos ID, it is not necessary to have a residence permit in the capital. Anyone with a Russian mobile operator phone number can register on the mos.ru portal, that is, residents of other Russian cities and foreigners.
In addition to renting electric scooters, users will be able to buy tickets, register for events, top up their Troika card, find necessary instructions, and use various city resources, including transport and tourism.
It is impossible to register on the portal without a phone number of Russian operators, but it is possible to make up to five trips - after that, rentals will not be available to unregistered users.
