Bitkom demands maximum security for 5G networks

In the debate about the security of future 5G networks, the digital association Bitkom reiterates that no compromises should be made when it comes to protecting the infrastructure. As part of the round table on cybersecurity , Bitkom and the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior today agreed on a joint position paper that calls for the highest level of security when setting up 5G networks.

When it comes to the encryption of 5G networks and possible access to encrypted data by authorities, the position calls for a clear and technology-neutral approach that reconciles the freedom to use effective encryption with the compelling needs of security authorities.
