Essentially, Business Intelligence can be defined as a technology-based process that aims to analyze data and, from that, present information that helps entrepreneurs, CEOs, executives, etc. make strategic decisions.

BI encompasses a variety of tools, applications and methodologies that enable organizations to collect data from both internal systems and external sources.
